2005 Honda Pilot- After battery cable install, CD changer keeps flashing lights and running as if it is looking for a CD, a few seconds after ignition turns off. Any suggestions?

I've an Acura w/Nav, Bose stereo, DVD, tape. Honda's are nearly the same. Your display should show some error in DVD / Radio window asking for a key code due to the disconnected battery which in turn shuts down the anti-theft alarm making it unusable to the thief. The code is on the inside top of the fuse box cover mounted on the pass side firewall (in engine compartment). Happens whenever battery is disconnected. Code may change if stereo has been replaced but the new code should have been provided at install. I believe it's 5 #'s. Have had to reenter mine several times due to new batteries. Original 03 owner. If lost, you need to contact Honda for the code but need new stereo serial #. Hope it helps, good luck.

Thank you. Actually that is not the answer. In this vehicle there is a CD and radio in the upper part of the console and a CD changer in the bottom console. The radio and upper CD player work fine after radio code was entered. The problem is specific to the lower CD Changer and appeared after a battery cable installation. I appreciate your response.

I have the same problem with my 2005 Pilot. Have you found the answer?

Same problem for me. No answers yet, though, I see. I had my battery disconnected for work done on my steering column, and while my radio showed an error code, which was resolved when I put in the code, the cd changer in the lower portion of the dash is searching for cds both when the car is started and right after it is turned off.

If I could figure this out I'd be rich. No one seems to have a clue how this happened or what can fix it. I've searched the service bulletins with no luck. Also gone back to all the 2005-2015 posts with no hope of resolving it.

Interesting. I have had a problem free 2005 Pilot and all of a sudden my cd changer is doing the same thing. But in my case no battery cable changes or any other work done on the vehicle. Working when I parked it, came out a day later and it had spit out a cd and has had issues since. Upper radio and cd player working fine.

Ask honda maintenance and they acted like they didn't have a clue. Nice right?

What does it mean when your antenna light keeps flashing and your radio and your lighters do not work does that mean that it's a main fuse

Wow, it's crazy to see the exact same problem that other 2005 Pilot owners are having! I have done a lot of research as well, and also cannot seem to locate an answer! I don't necessarily care that the changer can no longer play CDs. I just don't want it wearing down the battery while it goes through this clicking sequence when the ignition is turned off.

Same exact problem here. Same vehicle. Been listening to it search for cd’s when starting or stopping ignition for years. Highly annoying and looking for a DIY solution.

I just purchased a 2005 pilot and I'm having the same issue I figured it was a defect in the changer but it would be nice to have an answer before I swapped out the unit

Exact same problem in 2005 Pilot EX-L after the battery was replaced! All lights were green. Took out radio fuse and entered radio code. Now the first light is amber and the rest are green. Tried to assign different address to changer but it did not seem to do anything.

Am having the same issue after having my 2005 Pilot EX-L starter replaced yesterday. Oddly, I've had the battery replaced a couple times before and never had the issue. Hoping for a resolution, but not hopeful given this thread.
