2001 expedition starter issue

My car died and  would just click once.  We
changed the solenoid under the hood it
started  right up.  Drove it home and you
work the next morning. Got off at 5pm it
wouldn't start again just one click.  
Swapped the solenoid again.  Had starter
bench tested came  back bad. Got a new
duralast starter, new ground wire,  New
battery terminal connectors and installed
all. Had battery tested it's 13 months old
and giving off 12.6 volts. Everything is
testing good but still won't start! ! Tonight
the theft light began rapid flashing. .this is
new!
Just a few fyi's- had new fuel pump put in
march 24th by a certifed mechanic who
charged me $900.

She doesn't  like to start in park. .prefers
Neutral.

Any other suggestions on what to do
besides drive  her off a cliff?

Gear selector switch is your most likely problem with not cranking in park, the other thing is the security system is active now that is why the light is flashing, usually happens when the battery is disconnected, seen a number of Expeditions that look like they have been driven off cliffs lately, Expedition failures must be going around.

thankyou for your help! We found the actual culprit...my AC compressor recent went out and got STUCK! Took the belt off the pulley and now my beast WANTS to start right up...BUT the dang ac will need to be repaired first because its all one giant pulley mechanism...any tips on how to bypass this or IF we can bypass this until payday??

Check with your local parts store and see if Dorman makes an A/C bypass pulley kit for your rig.
