Class III/IV trailer hitch

Asked by mpampe May 26, 2009 at 01:06 PM about the 2008 Mercury Mountaineer

Question type: Car Customization

I have found many after marked class III hitches for a 2008 Mountaineer that ADD-ON BELOW the factory class II hitch.  Are there any out there that REPLACE the factory hitch?

no sir, about the only option for this is to find a factory hitch off a model that had the trailer package from the factory. ford made the hitch part of the understructure that allows it to be used for crash impact points. the bonus of this way of doing it is that your not driving around a suv with a nasty hitch hanging below the bumper line (clean look)
