Putting a 4 barrel carb on a 2 barrel intake 390fe

Put new carb on my 69 galaxie now car dies as
soon as I hit the gas starts fine but as soon as I
give it gas it dies have it at a shop in town they
can't get it right  should I put a 4 barrel adapter on
how dose that work thanks

How did you get a 4 barrel on a 2 barrel intake. What you need is a 4 barrel intake not a adaptor.

Those were actually designed to put a 2BBL carb in place of the 4BBL even though they work both ways. Those carbs are not that hard to make work, maybe they don't have any old school techs there. It really sounds like they don't have the accelerator pump setup properly.

The old Autolite 2 barrel carbs are one of the simplest and best carbs ever made. Get someone else to help you with it. You may have an issue other than the carb. Accelerator pump or choke issue may be the problem if it is carb related.
