car engine will not turn over

Did you change the battery? It sounds like you may have the + and - battery leads hooked up backwards.

check to see if you have an acid buildup between the cable and battery. if so scrape it off to get metal and reinstall cables tight. check your water level if low fill to top marker and then recharge your battery. if it it older then 7 years then get a boost and drive to a parts store. turn on the headlights... if youy have lights then have someone stand in front of car to see what it does after turning the key. if there are lights and they don't dim or go out check battery connections tighten if needed. if still no change you could be looking at a starter
