Interchangeable starter

Asked by GuruKP6KC Dec 14, 2019 at 08:20 PM about the 2005 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will a starter from a 2001 ford taurus fit a 2005
ford taurus?

1 Answer

According to the parts list yes. Just make sure the starter from the 2001 has the same engine you have in the 2005. Either the 3.0L OHV or the DOHC. The starters won't work if they don't.
