04 envoy transmission and brakes
I was driving home and the transmission just went out any gear and when this happened my brakes will go all the way to the floor

Other than the introduction of the XUV, not much changed for the GMC Envoy midsize SUV in 2004. This model comes in 4 trims: SLE 2WD, SLE 4WD, SLT 2WD, and SLT 4WD. All 4 trims use a 4.2 L, 275 hp I6 engine with 4 speed automatic transmission.
As for gas mileage, expect 15-16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. All trims have 4 doors, seat 5, and offer an extensive list of standard and optional features. The SLT gives you more than the SLE with standard power and leather seats with optional navigation system. The 2WD versions of the SLE and SLT give you optional traction control. Finally, when it comes to towing capacity, the Envoy can lug a maximum of 6100-6300 lbs.
Overall, drivers give the 2004 GMC Envoy a solid grade with a couple caveats. While the options and I6 engine get props from Envoy fans, better steering and handling would make this SUV better able to compete with the other vehicles in its class. Look for a V8 engine in 2005 as the Envoy continues its evolution.

I love this vehicle!!!Not one complaint from me. I wish GMC would re introduce the ENVOY in 2024!!! I have the SLT, with all the bells n whistles. Great for road trips, vacation, and everyday...alot of them on the road here, and no one wants to sell theirs, that says alot..Aug 13, 2023

Good mechanical dependability. Electrical nightmare!!! This purchase was made out of desparation for a SUV after hitting a deer with my Honda. We have been purchasing Japanese cars stricly and will be purchasing them again. Never will I buy a GM vehicle again especially since they sitll owe the American public 4 billion dollars of bailout. It is the best vehicle that I have ever owned. We thought that the CRV defined what an SUV was that thing was a tin can on wheels. The Envoiy broke the mold and redefined my thought of what an SUV is. We have Jeep Liberty anad like it, but not as much as the Envoy.Aug 21, 2008

Great on-road handling, power and acceleration. Handles sand in 4wd no problems considering limited ground clearance. Comfortable ride. Problems with GM power management affecting electrics (ignition, warning lamp, headlights, air conditioning) not easily rectified. DVD and sound system not fully integrated in this model.Jul 07, 2008

Miserable experience. Bumper was welded on crooked from the factory. Did not notice for a few weeks. Got screwed on the replacement deal. the specials I bought this with were no longer available. GM could not give a damn less. They suck. this vehicle sucked and I lost lots of money on this one fast. Nobody at GM cared much. I was even a GM family member. I think that made them care even less. Why is my Envoy not Starting?
I got an Envoy I replaced battery,alternator,fuel filter,thermostat,spark plugs and coils now when I try to turn it on nothing.I get in and the security light is flashing after I try to turn it on nothing and the security light turns off also but I open and close the door and the light starts again? CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE

Envoy will not start what could it be?
