In the United States, the Ford Fiesta met its demise in 2019 as the automaker slashed sedans and all cars but the Mustang from its lineup. The shift took the performance-oriented Fiesta ST with it, removing one of the last and purest affordable enthusiast cars from the market. Ford sold the car starting in 2014 and immediately proved why Americans should buy more hatchbacks. The turbocharged 1.6-liter engine and six-speed manual transmission combined with a lively chassis and torque vectoring created an appealing package. Unfortunately, the appeal was not strong enough to keep the car around, but the used market is full of great examples.
