I bought this car in 2010 after reasearching all other alternatives. Even now, given the fuel economy, price, exterior and interior looks of the vehicle it still blows everything else out of the water. There are small downsides like hard seats and less sound deadening materials; but, it's not a luxury car. It does what it's built for. Build quality is excellent and so is the integrity of all the parts it's made of. I have had no costs associated with the replacement of parts that are not related to maintenance. Maintenance intervals are huge and cost much less than typical cars. The look and feel of the car has put it over the top for me. Compared to the only other hybrid that gets this kind of fuel economy (Prius and Prius C) this car provides the perfect amount of space for my family (Prius C does not) and the interior beats the Prius any day. The layout of the car is more conventional and you are connected to the drive components for that real car feel.

Love the Insight. Watching mileage increase helps me adjust my foot on the gas. :)> Acceleration, braking and handling are very responsive. Time will tell if the mileage is as good as advertised. So far, it's great.

There is a lot of road noise on the freeway. It has an excellent turning radius. The gas mileage is amazing! The batteries that were originally put in go dead, but Honda replaces them under warranty. The interior is skimpy to save on the weight, but not having all the extra stuff is nice. The outside takes some getting used to with the wheel skirts, but I have come to like it. Overall it is a joy to drive and I look forward to getting every time.

The Honda Insight debuted in the United States in late 1999 and was the first hybrid (gasoline/electric) automobile available in the U.S. With fantastic fuel economy, this is certainly a technology we all should take seriously.
The Insight has a small three-cylinder motor and electrical backup to help with acceleration, but drivers should be careful how much and how hard they accelerate, since that drains the battery.
The Insight comes with a specially designed five-speed manual transmission and has an aerodynamic design to maximize fuel efficiency. The Insight can go up to 70 miles on one gallon of gasoline.
