New & Used 2026 Honda Odyssey for Sale nearChicago, IL

Is the 2026 Honda Odyssey a good car?

The 2026 Honda Odyssey is a strong choice if you want a family hauler that prioritizes comfort, practicality, and easy driving. It uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower, and Honda says the lighter, more rigid unibody structure helps support a quieter cabin and fewer rattles and squeaks over time.

You also get a minivan that leans heavily into convenience, with seating for seven or eight and available features like CabinTalk, CabinWatch, a rear entertainment setup, Magic Slide second-row seats, wireless phone charging, and an 11-speaker audio system. The base model includes Honda Sensing, a multi-angle rearview camera, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, which adds to its everyday appeal.

The tradeoffs are clear: there’s no all-wheel drive or hybrid option, and some rivals offer more storage versatility. Still, the Odyssey’s combination of comfort, family features, and safety equipment makes it a compelling used minivan, especially with 39.8% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Honda Odyssey reliable?

The 2026 Honda Odyssey is presented as a durable, family-focused minivan with a robust unibody structure that Honda says is lighter and more rigid than before. That design is meant to support a quieter cabin and fewer rattles and squeaks over time, which is a good sign for long-term day-to-day ownership.

It also keeps a straightforward V6 powertrain and a practical, comfort-first layout, which can be appealing if you want a used vehicle that feels familiar and easy to live with. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is likely tied more to condition and maintenance history than to the basic formula itself.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Honda Odyssey?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the van’s maintenance records are complete, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, sliding-seat mechanisms, rear entertainment equipment, and any signs of wear in the interior, since family use can be hard on these areas.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Should I buy a 2026 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds useful tech updates while staying comfortable and practical.

The bottom line: If you want the most current version of the Odyssey’s comfort-and-convenience formula, the 2026 is the cleaner pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 can make sense because it keeps the core strengths while potentially opening up a lower-cost path into the same basic minivan experience.
