Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy a good car?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy stands out as a practical midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive, strong safety content, and a comfortable, everyday driving character. It also remains relatively affordable used compared with some rivals, which makes it appealing if you want a well-equipped sedan without paying top-tier prices. If you value security, usability, and a calm driving experience, this model fits that use case well. The market shows 35.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Subaru Legacy reliable?

The 2025 Subaru Legacy’s appeal is built around standard AWD, comfort, and a long list of safety features, and it carries a familiar Subaru formula in its most developed form. It also includes DriverFocus standard across all trims, along with EyeSight, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane keep assist. For long-term ownership, the main risk for used buyers is that a car with this much everyday use and a value-oriented price point can vary a lot in condition, so maintenance history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report on any listing you like, even if it appears clean on paper. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and how well the cabin and electronics have held up. Because the Legacy’s value proposition depends so much on comfort and safety equipment, make sure those systems work as expected before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 899 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,547, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $27,556 sits slightly below last year's $28,527.

That price movement suggests the Legacy has softened enough to help you buy in at a more favorable level than a year ago. If you plan to resell later, the current market gives you a clearer picture of where values are settling, which can help you avoid overpaying today. A well-kept example with clean history and strong equipment should be easier to justify to the next buyer than one with visible wear or incomplete records.

Should I buy a 2025 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.40% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the most developed version of the Legacy formula, especially standard AWD, strong safety content, and a relatively affordable used price. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2025 remains the cleaner choice if you want the latest version of this sedan’s core strengths.
