Used 2023 Toyota Crown for Sale near Pennsylvania

How much does the 2023 Toyota Crown cost?

Prices have softened 1.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 393 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown a good car?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is a compelling choice if you want a distinctive large sedan with a comfort-first personality and strong efficiency, though it is not the right pick if you prioritize speed or upscale cabin materials. It earns 3.5/5 from users and 6.3/10 from our experts.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Toyota’s elevated ride height gives the Crown a unique middle ground between a sedan and an SUV, and the design is meant to stand out rather than blend in. The trade-offs are clear in the expert notes: performance is fairly pedestrian, cargo space is limited, and the interior materials can feel cheap.

That makes it a better fit for you if you value comfort, efficiency, and a distinctive look over sporty acceleration or luxury-grade finishes. Good and great deals account for 31.3% of listings, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown reliable?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is presented as a comfort-focused hybrid with a straightforward powertrain and a strong efficiency advantage, which supports an ownership experience centered on everyday usability. The expert notes also describe the ride as tuned for comfort and the cabin as pleasantly quiet on the road.

The performance write-up says the base hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a hybrid electric motor/generator and an additional rear electric motor for on-demand AWD, while the Platinum can add a more powerful Hybrid Max setup. That same section also notes that the base hybrid’s CVT can make the engine sound strained and that some electronic driver aids can be intrusive.

On the cost side, the Crown’s standard hybrid system is described as the economical choice, and the base hybrid is estimated at 42 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a more complex hybrid and AWD setup can be costlier to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper report. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the hybrid system, AWD operation, and any signs of interior wear, since the cabin materials are described as mixed in quality. It also makes sense to test the driver-assistance features on a road drive, because some of them can feel intrusive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Crown is a full-size sedan with seating for five, and the base trim already brings a modern cabin with a digital instrument panel and a large touchscreen. Higher trims add more upscale touches, but the base cabin still includes some hard plastics, so you should pay close attention to material quality if that matters to you.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a hybrid electric motor/generator and on-demand AWD, while the Platinum can add the Hybrid Max powertrain with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a more powerful rear electric motor. The base hybrid is the efficiency play, while the Hybrid Max is the stronger option.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA software updates, and a wireless charging pad. Higher trims can add an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, and digital key capability is standard on the Platinum and available on the Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The base hybrid is estimated at 42 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 41 mpg combined, while the Hybrid Max is rated at 29 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Toyota Crown trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Crown’s core appeal: the elevated ride, standard AWD, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the efficient base hybrid powertrain. It gives you the Crown experience without paying for extras you may not need.
• Limited: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale daily driver and are willing to pay for added comfort and convenience. It sits above the base model and is the better fit if you want more equipment without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Platinum: This is the most feature-rich version, and it is the one to choose if you want the strongest performance and the most advanced equipment. It adds the Hybrid Max powertrain, adaptive suspension, a semi-automated parallel parking system, and standard digital key capability.

The safety package starts with a strong standard feature set, and the Platinum adds the semi-automated parallel parking system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 393 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Crown's resale value?

The current average of $33,372 sits slightly below last year's $34,016.

That tells you the Crown has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should expect some depreciation pressure rather than a quick rebound.

The good news is that the price movement is modest, so the Crown is not showing a dramatic drop in value. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain it well, you should be able to position it competitively when it is time to trade or sell.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown safe?

The 2023 Toyota Crown has not yet published crash test results from NHTSA or IIHS in the provided data.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.

The expert notes also say the adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are well tuned for smooth driving, though some of the newer driver-assist features can be annoying and intrusive. For used buyers, that means you should test the assistance systems yourself and make sure they behave the way you want.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Crown or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.89% compared with last year.
• The 2023 stands out for its unique middle ground between large sedans and SUVs, plus its striking design and strong efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the Crown’s distinctive styling and efficiency at a used-market price that has already softened, the 2023 is the right year to target. If you are more price-sensitive and want to maximize value, keep shopping carefully for the best-equipped listing in your budget and compare condition closely.
