How much does the 2023 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have softened 1.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,146 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Lexus IS earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sporty design, smooth performance, luxurious interior, and handling, and many also call out its good value for money. That fits well if you want a compact luxury sports sedan that feels more athletic than purely practical, especially if you do not need much rear-seat or cargo space. With 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with owners highlighting its long-term appeal through its features, design, and overall ownership experience. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used luxury sedan you can count on without giving up style or driving enjoyment. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus IS?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and prior ownership patterns. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior electronics, infotainment, and comfort features, since those are the kinds of systems you will use every day. You should also focus on overall condition, because a used luxury sports sedan can look appealing while still hiding wear from aggressive driving or neglected maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus IS?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings if you stay selective.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,146 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,246, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $40,698 sits slightly below last year's $41,359.

That softer pricing suggests the market is giving buyers a bit more leverage today, which can help if you plan to sell later and want to buy at a more favorable entry point now. For future resale, the model’s strong owner satisfaction should help keep demand steady, especially among shoppers who value style, handling, and brand reputation. A car that continues to score well with owners tends to hold attention better when it comes time to list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $36,999, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,698 average.
• It adds a more performance-focused feel with a stronger enthusiast edge.

The 2023 is the better all-around pick if you want the newer-year market position and a broad mix of inventory, deal opportunities, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in strong condition with a clean history.
