How much does the 2023 Ford Maverick cost?

There are 2,329 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its impressive gas mileage, comfort, and value, and many also like the hybrid option and practical design for family use and hauling. The Maverick’s appeal is strongest if you want a compact truck that feels easy to live with and still distinctive. Trade-offs include a noisy cabin and an older infotainment system.

With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that many people count on for everyday use, with praise for its practical design and hybrid efficiency. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Maverick’s bargain-oriented value and its ability to deliver useful capability without losing its approachable character. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck has been cared for properly, especially if you’re considering one with higher mileage or heavier use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Maverick?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a close inspection of the cabin and infotainment system, since those are recurring weak spots in the ownership and expert feedback. It also makes sense to focus on how the truck was used, because a compact pickup can see a wide range of duty cycles.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL comes with 17-inch Sparkle Silver-painted steel wheels, while XLT gets 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels and Lariat upgrades to 18-inch Bright aluminum wheels. The Tremor package adds blacked-out exterior details, orange accents, unique wheels, and a more rugged look, while the base trim is the most stripped-down choice.
• Powertrain: The standard hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, while the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost makes 250 horsepower and can be paired with all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 suite is standard and includes automatic high beams, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rear view camera. Available upgrades include adaptive cruise control, lane centering, evasive steering assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and hill-descent control.
• Infotainment: The Maverick uses an 8-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth, wired Apple CarPlay, and wired Android Auto are standard. FordPass Connect can add a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with a subscription, but the system is older and the graphics are basic.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid returns 40 mpg city, 33 highway, and 37 combined, while the gas engine gets 25 mpg city, 30 highway, and 25 combined.

Which 2023 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Maverick is offered in 3 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value-first starting point, and it makes the Maverick’s core appeal accessible without pushing the price up. It suits you if you want the lowest entry cost and can live with the most basic equipment.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more polished wheel setup and is the starting point for the Tremor package and FX4 package. If you want the sweet spot between price and flexibility, this is the one to focus on.
• Lariat: This is the most upscale regular trim, with 18-inch wheels, a larger driver display, push-button start, ambient lighting, and available luxury upgrades such as a B&O audio system and wireless charging. It suits you if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 suite is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety package no matter which trim you choose.

What is the 2023 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $25,679 sits slightly below last year's $27,731.

That price movement suggests the Maverick has softened enough to create a better buying window now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. If you buy at a favorable price today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The Maverick’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 suite is standard, so every trim gets automatic high beams, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rear view camera. Available safety upgrades include adaptive cruise control, lane centering, evasive steering assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and hill-descent control. The expert review also notes that the reverse camera can detect cross traffic farther away than many systems.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The Tremor package adds extra off-road capability and broadens the lineup’s appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,226, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $25,679 average.
• It offers a simpler, more approachable pickup with strong value and an available hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the added Tremor option and a broader used-market selection. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 remains the better value play and still delivers the Maverick’s core efficiency and practicality.
