How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 10.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,875 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2023 Silverado 2500HD backs that up with serious capability and a more modern, better-equipped cabin than older work-focused pickups. It gives you a standard gas V8, an available Duramax turbodiesel, a 10-speed automatic, and available four-wheel drive, so you can shop it as a work truck or a more comfortable heavy-duty daily driver. The lineup also includes useful trailering tech and available driver-assistance features, which makes it easier to live with than its size might suggest. Good and great deals account for 33.8% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Silverado 2500HD’s appeal comes from its broad equipment list, strong towing capability, and a cabin that feels more current than older heavy-duty pickups. It also offers useful trailering aids and available driver-assistance features that can make ownership less stressful. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is the usual heavy-duty-truck wear that can come from hard towing, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on towing-related wear, brake condition, suspension components, and signs of hard use. You should also pay close attention to cabin electronics and trailering equipment, since those features are a big part of this truck’s value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,875 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,944, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $43,944 sits slightly below last year's $49,340.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing now than a year ago. For a future seller, that can help if you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, because you are starting from a lower cost basis. Heavy-duty trucks with broad appeal and strong capability tend to hold buyer interest when they are clean, well maintained, and properly equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,930, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $43,944 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter primary choice because pricing has softened and inventory is broad. If you are willing to pay more for the refreshed styling and added off-road focus, the 2024 is the better secondary path.
