Why it stands out
The 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid sets itself apart with its strong emphasis on fuel efficiency, achieving an impressive 36 mpg in combined driving. This makes it one of the few hybrid options in the three-row midsize SUV category, appealing to buyers looking for eco-friendly utility. The vehicle is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine that produces 243 horsepower, combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While its performance may not wow enthusiasts, it offers a comfortable ride suited for family needs, smoothing out road bumps effectively.
Inside, the Highlander Hybrid combines practicality and comfort. Its spacious second row is designed with versatility in mind, offering sliding and reclining seats, along with amenities for family outings. However, the third row is better suited for occasional use, especially for smaller passengers. The Highlander also includes modern tech features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available Wi-Fi, though some aspects of its interior quality may feel less premium compared to competitors. The hybrid's affordability when considering fuel savings further solidifies its position as an attractive choice for families seeking both space and efficiency.

Comfortable, good responsive feel on the road, feature rich, great gas mileage. Moderate storage capacity for its size in comparison to a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not a good choice for towing above 2500 lbs.
