Is the 2022 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 3500 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, towing capability, and spacious interior, and they also value the unique RamBox feature and the truck’s overall comfort. Is the 2022 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as powerful and comfortable, and the feedback also points to a truck that many people feel good about living with over time. The same owner summary also highlights value for money and useful features, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable long-term ownership choice for the right buyer. Mixed comments about the transmission mean you should pay close attention to service history and how the truck drives before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and maintenance patterns. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission, since owner feedback includes mixed reliability concerns in that area. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and signs of hard use, because this is a heavy-duty truck that may have been worked hard even if it looks clean on the surface.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,430 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $51,390, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $51,411 sits slightly below last year's $55,823.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s strong capability and broad appeal should still help it hold attention among heavy-duty buyers. The combination of strong owner satisfaction and practical usefulness can support demand when it’s time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a healthy inventory pool, and a softer price trend than a year ago. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years for the best value, but the 2022 remains the safer pick if you want a balance of capability, comfort, and market availability.
