Is the 2018 RAM 3500 reliable?

For long-term ownership, that suggests lower worry about buyer regret, though you should still verify maintenance history on any heavy-duty truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 3500?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage affected the frame, suspension, or towing hardware. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on wear from heavy use, especially if the truck was used for towing or hauling. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a heavy-duty truck can look clean while still carrying a lot of hard-work miles.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 3500?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2018 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $36,334 sits slightly below last year's $40,099.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar immediately. Even so, the truck's strong owner satisfaction and heavy-duty appeal help support demand among shoppers who need real capability. If you buy well and keep the truck in good condition, resale should remain reasonably resilient for the segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a softer price trend, and enough inventory to compare options.
