Used 2020 RAM 3500 for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2020 RAM 3500 cost?

Prices have softened 11.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 952 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 3500 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power and towing capacity, and they also value the comfortable interior and advanced features like the large display. That lines up well with its role as a heavy-duty truck that still aims to work as a daily driver, especially if you want serious capability without giving up cabin comfort. With 28.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to dependable performance in the areas that matter most to heavy-duty buyers, especially power and towing. At the same time, some drivers mention mechanical concerns involving the CP4 pump and DPF filter, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and repair records. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you verify upkeep carefully, but it can rise quickly on trucks with neglected diesel-related service.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 3500?

At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on mechanical condition, especially if the truck has diesel equipment or signs of heavy use. It also makes sense to prioritize overall condition and maintenance records, since a work-capable truck like this can vary a lot from one listing to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,424, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $44,424 sits slightly below last year's $50,434.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, because a lower entry price can help protect your position later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner satisfaction, solid market availability, and a softer price than last year, the 2020 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2020’s stronger satisfaction signal and current market positioning.
