Is the 2022 Honda HR-V a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the HR-V’s spacious interior, comfortable seating, and great value, and they also highlight its practical, cargo-friendly versatility. That fits especially well if you want a small SUV that feels easy to live with, efficient, and useful for everyday driving. Is the 2022 Honda HR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners often emphasizing the HR-V’s reliability and overall value. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for daily use without a lot of drama. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about major surprises and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda HR-V?

At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repair, and anything that suggests the car has been in a collision or had uneven wear. Focus on overall condition as much as mileage, because a clean, well-kept example is the one most likely to deliver the HR-V’s practical value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,703 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,707, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $20,000 sits slightly below last year's $20,885.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point, but it also suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation. If you plan to sell later, the HR-V’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation should help you preserve more of its value than a rougher example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,975, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $20,000 average.
• It offers agile handling and strong practicality for its size.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,425, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $20,000 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin and more standard safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the smarter value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more.
