How much does the 2022 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,786 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Mustang earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, handling, and styling, and many also like the manual transmission option and the fun driving experience. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a sporty coupe or convertible with real enthusiast appeal and broad configuration choices. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that can be dependable when it has been maintained well, with praise centered on performance and the overall driving experience. At the same time, the ownership picture suggests you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history, especially on used examples. For you, the main long-term risk is buying a car that has been modified, poorly maintained, or not inspected closely enough before purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and any signs of repeated repairs. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or shows signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since those matter more than mileage alone on a performance-oriented used car.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right car shows up, but you should still be selective.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,786 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 76.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,446, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $34,101 sits slightly above last year's $33,061.

That upward movement suggests the market still values this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. Because prices have risen rather than softened, you may have less room for a bargain than in a weaker market, but that also signals steady buyer interest. If you maintain the car carefully and avoid examples with questionable history, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.15% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,519, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,101 average.
• It blends classic pony-car identity with modern tech and a distinctive look.

The 2022 is the better pick if you want stronger current-market confidence, solid inventory, and high owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Mustang formula you likely want.
