CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Porsche 911

Summary
With 781 currently listed for sale and an average price of $181,640.00, 32.0% of 2021 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Porsche 911 4.9 / 5 stars.
92.8% of 2021 Porsche 911 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Porsche 911 stands out because it blends the model’s classic rear-engine layout and iconic shape with the kind of performance and technology that make it usable every day. In this generation, the 911’s styling is still unmistakable, but the car is larger than before and gets a more intricate lighting design, with taillights integrated into a narrow strip across the rear deck. The entry-level Carrera uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer six with 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automated dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive, while the Carrera 4 adds all-wheel drive. Buyers who want more punch can look to the Carrera S and 4S, which raise output to 443 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque and are also eligible for a seven-speed manual.
What makes the 2021 911 especially appealing is how broad its range already is. The following model year added Targa versions and brought back the Turbo and Turbo S, but even this car’s own lineup shows the 911’s ability to span from everyday sports car to serious performance machine. The 911’s rear-engine balance remains part of its character, and Porsche’s engineering has made it more manageable than its reputation might suggest. That said, it is still a pricey car to buy and maintain, and passenger and cargo space are limited. Owners also praised its fun-to-drive nature and luxurious feel, though some wished for a larger display and better storage for the rear seats.

This 911 Turbo S was painted in Aventurine which is one of the rarest Porsche colors, and it was paired with a sumptuous truffle leather interior. The only option missing was the front end lift. There is no comparison to the 911 Turbo S.

Great car. Drove it cross country. I was warned that it would be a rough ride and noisy. It has the PASM sport suspension and Sport exhaust. The ride was a smooth as could be and the exhaust was not too loud at all. Even my wife enjoyed the ride and agreed it was very comfortable and pleasant.

Outstanding. There are so many words that have already been written to describe the singular driving experience of the Porsche 911, but none that can actually convey that experience. Having bought my first Porsche 911, I finally get it. What a vehicle.

Yes — the 2021 Porsche 911 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its fun-to-drive nature, excellent performance, and luxurious feel. Is the 2021 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a car they can count on over time. That kind of praise matters in a used sports car, where long-term confidence often comes from consistent day-to-day performance rather than just headline speed. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about making sure the specific example has been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s background matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with performance-oriented use. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

What is the 2021 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $180,960 sits slightly below last year's $182,618.
That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you as a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be a positive sign because it points to predictable demand. The 911’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support buyer interest when it is time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2021 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?

- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

Consider the 2020 if:

- It delivers iconic design with strong performance and a clear enthusiast appeal.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $220,377, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $180,960 average.
