There are 330 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model X a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model X earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance and technology, along with its customization options and luxury features. The review summary also highlights the driving experience and safety and Autopilot capabilities, which fit well if you want a premium electric SUV with family-friendly seating and advanced tech. With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model X reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a vehicle that owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centered on performance, technology, and the confidence that comes from its safety and Autopilot features. That said, the same feedback also mentions minor quality issues, so you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history on any used example. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is buying a poorly kept vehicle rather than one that has been carefully maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model X?

At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body alignment, panel fit, and overall condition. Because this model has a reputation for minor quality issues, it makes sense to focus on how well the vehicle has aged rather than just the odometer reading.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model X?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 330 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.71% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 74.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,618, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model X's resale value?

The current average of $36,538 sits slightly above last year's $34,564.

That upward movement suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale value if you buy carefully. If you own one in strong condition, the combination of steady demand and limited supply can make it easier to attract future buyers. The key is to avoid overpaying now, since resale strength matters most when your purchase price leaves room for depreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model X or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.71% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model X makes sense if you want the familiar Tesla formula with strong owner satisfaction, a premium EV experience, and enough market inventory to shop selectively. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2020 remains the better fit when you want a balance of demand, features, and buyer confidence.
