Used 2020 Lexus RX for Sale near Massachusetts

How much does the 2020 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 3.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,329 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Lexus RX earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, comfort, reliability, spacious interior, and quiet cabin. The RX also stands out for its smooth ride and practical everyday usefulness, especially if you want a midsize luxury SUV that feels relaxed rather than flashy.

The main trade-off is technology: the infotainment system can be unintuitive, and some owners want more features. The RX fits you well if you value comfort, refinement, and a premium driving experience over cutting-edge controls.

With 38.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience. The expert review also emphasizes Lexus’ reputation for reliability and notes that the RX is built for buyers who want a premium vehicle that’s easy to live with.

The RX’s smooth power delivery and calm, composed character reinforce that dependable feel. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since luxury ownership costs can rise if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus RX?

At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the technology and safety systems work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX gets refreshed styling, standard 18-inch wheels, slimmer headlights, L-shaped taillights, and an available hands-free tailgate. The F Sport appearance package adds a unique steering wheel and shift knob, aluminum pedals, 20-inch wheels, and other sport-themed exterior and interior touches.
• Powertrain: The standard RX 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic and 295 horsepower. A hybrid version is also available, and the RX 450h is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, road-sign assist, and lane-tracing assist. Blind-spot monitoring is available.
• Infotainment: The RX comes with an 8.0-inch standard display and an available 12.3-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay is standard, and Android Auto is included as well. The system also gains six USB ports total.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 achieves an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined. The RX 350L and RX 350 AWD get 22 mpg combined, while the heavier RX 350L AWD gets 21 mpg combined. The RX 450h AWD gets 30 mpg combined, and the RX 450hL gets 29 mpg combined.

Which 2020 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350L, RX 450h, RX 450hL.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the best-value choice if you want the core RX experience with the standard V6, smooth eight-speed automatic, and the comfort-focused character that defines the model.
• RX 350L: Choose this if you want the extra space of the three-row version and can accept the added cost for the longer body.
• RX 450h: This is the trim to buy if fuel efficiency matters most, since it delivers the strongest mpg figures in the lineup.
• RX 450hL: Pick this only if you want the hybrid powertrain and the three-row layout together, since it combines the highest practicality with the hybrid setup.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard across the lineup, so you get a strong safety baseline even on the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,329 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,183, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $32,183 sits slightly below last year's $33,335.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment than owners did a year ago. Even so, the RX’s strong reputation for comfort and reliability should help it remain appealing to used shoppers.

Because demand tends to stay healthy for well-regarded luxury SUVs, a clean, well-kept RX should still hold buyer interest better than many rivals. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Lexus RX safe?

The Lexus RX has received good safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, a rearview camera, daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, road-sign assist, and lane-tracing assist. Blind-spot monitoring is available, and the RX also includes connected safety services through Lexus Enform Safety Connect and Enform Service Connect.

One caveat is that the connected safety service did not always stay connected during testing. Even so, the RX’s standard driver-assistance suite gives you a strong safety foundation for daily driving.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 brings refreshed styling, standard Apple CarPlay, and added safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,952, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $32,183 average.
• It adds new standard safety systems.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong satisfaction and solid equipment. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a few added safety updates, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path.
