Used 2019 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearDetroit, MI

How much does the 2019 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 3.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,581 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its solid, reliable character, roomy cabin, comfortable ride, and strong towing capability. The overview also points to its straightforward, no-nonsense appeal, which fits you well if you want a proven truck rather than a tech-heavy one.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin ergonomics are poor, and the truck’s outdated technology can be frustrating if you want modern convenience. The expert review also notes that the Tundra’s old-school formula may leave you wanting more refinement or newer features.

With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, solid, and trouble-free, with language that points to a truck you can count on over time. The expert review also emphasizes rugged dependability and notes that the V8 setup offers a broad, predictable power band with impressive durability and reliability.

The cost-effectiveness review adds that the truck’s off-road-focused TRD Pro trim delivers a lot of fun and utility for the money. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear may show up in outdated systems and a truck that feels behind newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?

At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, frame condition, and repair quality. Because this truck’s appeal depends heavily on durability and straightforward ownership, condition matters more than cosmetic extras. It also makes sense to focus on how well the cabin and electronics have aged, since outdated technology is a recurring complaint.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR includes heated mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, a damped tailgate, an integrated trailer-brake controller, and a safety suite with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and auto high beams. The SR5 adds a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic info, HD and satellite radio, foglights, and variable-intermittent windshield wipers. The Limited adds leather front bucket seats with power, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual-zone auto climate control, navigation, and auto headlights. The Platinum and 1794 Edition add unique styling, a sunroof, heated and cooled front seats with driver memory, power side-view mirrors with auto dimming, an upgraded 12-speaker JBL stereo, and LED daytime running lights. The TRD Pro adds a raised suspension, off-road tires with forged BBS wheels, Fox shocks, a skid plate, TRD Pro badging, and LED head- and fog lights.
• Powertrain: You get one of two V8 engines paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4.6-liter V8 makes 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.7-liter V8 adds more power and towing capability. The truck’s old-school V8 setup is predictable and durable, but it is also thirsty.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is unavailable on the base SR and the TRD Pro.
• Infotainment: The base truck uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and a 6-speaker stereo with a CD player. The SR5 upgrades to a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic info, plus HD and satellite radio. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4.6-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive is EPA-estimated at 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined. The larger 5.7-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive can deliver up to 13/18/15.

Which 2019 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and still want a surprisingly strong equipment list, including the standard safety suite and basic connectivity. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability and durability than luxury or tech.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, traffic info, HD and satellite radio, foglights, and more convenience features without jumping into luxury pricing.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more comfortable daily driver, with leather front bucket seats, dual-zone climate control, navigation, and extra convenience upgrades that make the cabin feel more polished.
• Platinum: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale Tundra, with heated and cooled front seats, driver memory, a JBL stereo, a sunroof, and distinctive styling.
• 1794 Edition: This is the style-focused luxury choice, sharing much of the Platinum’s upscale equipment while leaning into unique appearance details.
• TRD Pro: Pick this if you want the most distinctive Tundra, with a revised suspension, off-road tires, Fox shocks, skid plate, and extra TRD hardware that make it the most adventure-oriented version.

Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is unavailable on the base SR and the TRD Pro.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,581 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,167, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $33,457 sits slightly below last year's $34,718.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has lost some market momentum, which can work against you if you plan to sell soon. On the other hand, the current range still shows steady demand for a full-size pickup with a loyal following and a reputation for durability.

If you keep the truck in clean condition and maintain it well, you may be able to protect more of its value than a less desirable, less trusted competitor. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2019 Toyota Tundra earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star rollover testing from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in side crash tests. IIHS testing also shows mixed results, with Marginal ratings for the headlights and driver-side small overlap front test, a Poor rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test, and an Acceptable roof-strength result.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota makes a strong case for the standard safety suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, auto high beams, and a drowsiness monitor. Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert is also available on most trims, though it is not offered on the base SR or the TRD Pro.

The main caution is that some of these systems feel dated, and the IIHS results show that the truck’s age still matters in crash protection and lighting performance.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The TRD Pro returns with a revised suspension and new BBS wheels.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $36,687, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,457 average.
• It is described as especially strong on long-term reliability.

The bottom line: If you want the better price and a broad selection, the 2019 is the smarter starting point. If long-term reliability is your top priority and you are willing to pay more, the 2020 is worth a look.
