With 206 currently listed for sale near Detroit, MI and an average price of $25,115.00, 28.6% of 2019 Ford F-150s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Ford F-150 stands out as a truck that stays current through modest updates rather than a full redesign. It had been last updated in 2018, following a full redesign for 2015, and for 2019 it received a few modest feature updates to remain relevant against completely redesigned competitors. That makes it an appealing choice for buyers who want a proven full-size pickup with a familiar formula instead of the newest body style on the market.
What continues to define the 2019 Ford F-150 is its broad appeal as a luxury truck and a do-everything vehicle. The available features and upscale positioning reflect how pickups have evolved into vehicles that can tow, haul, carry people and goods, serve as a road-trip family car, and even work as a night-out ride. Owner feedback also points to strong comfort, great power, and a wide array of features, along with good value relative to competitors. At the same time, some drivers have noted that interior quality in lower trims could be better and that pricing can feel higher than expected.

The Ford Raptors are sharp looking powerful trucks. I personally like the 15-20 bodies better that 21-25. The luxury features are typically fantastic. When equipped with heated/cooled leather seats it's hard to beat. The premium price is hard to swallow but being a few years old makes them more reasonable. The newer Tremor trims are good comparisons is you love Ford trucks and can't stomach the price of a Raptor.

Is the 2019 Ford F-150 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable, with owners highlighting comfort, great power, and value that holds up well against rivals. The diesel powertrain is described as smooth and confident in most driving situations, and it can be quiet from inside the cabin. Ford also notes that the diesel’s stop/start system can be turned off, which may matter if you prefer a more traditional driving feel. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the truck’s condition and maintenance history match its mileage and equipment.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford F-150?
At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important. You should start with a vehicle history report, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks bodywork, electronics, and drivetrain condition. Pay close attention to how the truck was used, because trim and equipment differences can be significant on this model year.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The XL is a stripped-down work truck with a reversing camera, AM/FM radio, a 4.2-inch audio-system screen, and dynamic hitch assist, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The XLT brings power windows and locks plus an 8-inch Sync 3 screen, the Lariat adds leather and heated and ventilated front seats, and the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited move deeper into luxury features.
- Powertrain: Engine choices range from a 3.3-liter V6 to twin-turbo EcoBoost V6s, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V6. The diesel is the torque-heavy option and can tow up to 11,400 pounds when properly equipped, while the 10-speed automatic is used on all but the base trim.
- Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited and optional on the rest of the lineup.
- Infotainment: Base XL models use a 4.2-inch Sync screen with Bluetooth, while XLT and higher trims get Sync 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and intuitive menus. An available Wi-Fi hotspot and B&O Play premium audio system add more convenience on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined with rear-wheel drive, or 20 city, 25 highway, 22 combined with 4WD. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost returns 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined with rear-wheel drive, while the V8 with 4WD returns 16 mpg city, 22 highway, 18 combined.
Which 2019 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2019 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- XL: This is the work-truck choice, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live with very basic equipment. It is best if you care more about utility than comfort, but the sparse feature set makes it the least appealing for most shoppers.
- XLT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds power windows and locks, a larger 8-inch Sync 3 screen, and a USB port without jumping too far up the price ladder. If you want a more livable daily driver, this is the trim to target first.
- Lariat: This trim is the first clear step into comfort, with a leather interior, heated and ventilated front seats, and satellite radio. It suits you if you want a more upscale cabin without going all the way to luxury-truck pricing.
- King Ranch: This trim leans into luxury with its distinctive Camel Back upholstery and embroidered interior details. It is a strong pick if you want a premium-feeling truck with personality.
- Platinum: This trim adds even more upscale touches, including a unique wood-panel interior and power-deploying running boards. It fits you if you want luxury features that feel more polished and distinctive.
- Raptor: This is the off-road performance model, with a wide-body kit, underbody armor, and specially designed Fox Racing Shox. Choose it if you want the most aggressive capability and hardware in the lineup.
- Limited: This is the top luxury trim, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, a dual-panel moonroof, dual exhaust, and massaging seats. It is the right choice if you want the most feature-rich F-150 and are willing to pay for it.
The Limited is the only trim with the 360-degree camera system standard; it is optional on the rest of the lineup.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford F-150?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough price softness to make shopping worthwhile.
- Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,505 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.04% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 73.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $26,369.17, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $26,408 sits slightly below last year's $28,106. That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays loose. If you plan to sell later, the strongest protection comes from buying a well-kept example with desirable equipment and a clean history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 safe?
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts. Standard safety features include a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera. The available driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited and optional on the rest of the lineup, so lower trims may need to be equipped carefully if that feature matters to you.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.04% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 adds a new 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V6 and keeps the lineup broad and well-rounded.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $24,219, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $26,408 average.
- It is a well-rounded pickup with standout towing and fuel economy.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $28,687, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,408 average.
- It brings an accommodating modern interior and stronger everyday comfort.
The bottom line: If you want a proven full-size pickup with broad capability and a softer used-market price, the 2019 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2020 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling cabin and road manners.
