Used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for Sale nearIrvine, CA

How much does the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid cost?

Prices are up 1.97% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,031 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid a good car?

Generally — 4.4/5 from owners and 8.5/10 from experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the strong fuel economy, the performance, and the comfortable interior. The RAV4 Hybrid also stands out as a practical, stylish hybrid SUV with a more rugged look and strong value for money.

The main trade-offs are its outdated technology and an interior that some owners find underwhelming for the price. Even so, the overview points to a hybrid that fits buyers who want efficiency, comfort, and a little more personality than a typical commuter crossover.

Only 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free, with confidence in its long-term ownership experience. The hybrid system is also described as reliable after 20-plus years and several million Toyota hybrids sold.

The driving impression reinforces that sense of durability, with the hybrid system operating quietly and seamlessly in everyday use. ToyotaCare also includes the first two service visits and roadside assistance, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the hybrid hardware and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained and not abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the hybrid system and braking feel consistent on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XSE stands out with a sportier look, glossy exterior trim, and 18-inch wheels, while the interior adds upscale touches like blue stitching and bolstered front seats. The base trim is less richly equipped, so you should compare feature content carefully if you want the best value.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a 1.6-kilowatt battery for 219 horsepower. It is quiet and seamless around town, though the standard AWD can be slow to counter wheelspin and the brake feel is a weak point.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense comes standard with forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, and auto high beams. Rear emergency braking is optional.
• Infotainment: The system uses a clear touchscreen interface with swipe and pinch gestures, Apple CarPlay is standard, and Android Auto is not. The maps look dated, and the Entune app setup is limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates it at 41 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, and the test route returned 36 mpg over 400 mostly highway miles.

Which 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the hybrid’s core efficiency and standard safety equipment at the lowest price.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without pushing you into the highest price tiers.
• XSE: This is the standout choice if you want the sportier look and the sharper driving feel that the expert review highlights.
• Limited: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale equipment and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, so you get the core driver-assistance suite even on the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,031 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.97% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,311, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $25,293 sits slightly above last year's $24,803.

That upward move suggests the market still values this hybrid crossover’s mix of efficiency, style, and practicality. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should have a decent chance of holding value better than a less in-demand used SUV.

The limited supply of good deals also helps support pricing, especially for cleaner examples with strong equipment. Buyers continue to respond to the RAV4 Hybrid’s reputation for value and everyday usefulness.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid safe?

The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid earns four-star ratings for the driver's-side frontal crash test and rollover resistance from NHTSA, and five-star ratings in the front passenger frontal test and in the side barrier and side pole tests. The IIHS rated the RAV4, not the Hybrid, Good in all six crash tests and Superior for collision avoidance, but low headlight scores kept it from earning a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, including forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, and auto high beams. A front passenger seat cushion airbag and a driver's knee airbag are also standard.

The main caveat is the headlight performance noted by IIHS, which kept the RAV4 from a higher award.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.97% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a tougher look and remains the sportiest, most cost-effective way into a RAV4 Hybrid.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,608, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $25,293 average.
• It adds standard all-wheel drive, a roomy cabin, and plenty of standard multimedia and safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the stronger buy because it combines strong efficiency, good owner satisfaction, and a lower average price. If you can stretch for a newer model and want more standard features, the 2020 is the cleaner upgrade path.
