Is the 2019 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Lexus ES earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, smooth driving experience, and luxurious features, and many also highlight the comfort of the interior and the brand’s reliability. Is the 2019 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners specifically call out the brand’s reliability, along with a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used luxury sedan you can count on for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus ES?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition and documentation, because a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the refined ownership experience this model is known for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus ES?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $26,792, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $27,218 sits slightly below last year's $28,105.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, that means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A clean, well-documented example should hold up better than one with accident history or visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $29,713, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $27,218 average.
• It adds more in-cabin tech while keeping the same comfort-first character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is broad enough to compare carefully. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model with added tech, the 2020 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize those updates over price.
