How much does the 2019 BMW 4 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 839 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2019 BMW 4 Series stands out as a premium two-door coupe and convertible that emphasizes style, strong performance, and a well-equipped cabin. It shares much of its mechanical hardware with the contemporary 3 Series sedan, but BMW gave it a lower, sleeker body, and the first-generation car also introduced the 4 Series Gran Coupe, a five-door hatchback version of the coupe. That combination of upscale image and practical variety is a big part of its appeal, especially for buyers who want something more distinctive than a conventional midsize luxury car.

For 2019, the lineup consisted of the 430i and 440i, and even base models were well equipped with features including 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, automatic climate control, power front seats, and BMW’s iDrive system. The 4 Series’ broader character is enjoyable to drive, powerful, and generally well equipped, which makes it a strong fit if you want a premium coupe or convertible with a sporty edge. 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2019 BMW 4 Series benefits from the early 2017 update, which brought LED headlights for all models and stiffer suspension for a sharper drive. It also shares its mechanical foundation with the contemporary 3 Series, and the overview describes it as generally well equipped and enjoyable to drive.

The main ownership risk for used buyers is that BMW repairs can be costly if something goes wrong, so a documented service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW 4 Series?

At 55.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch signs of prior damage, uneven repairs, or deferred maintenance. Focus closely on condition and service records, since this model’s premium positioning makes repair costs more consequential if you inherit a problem.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 4 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,066, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $19,066 sits slightly below last year's $20,601.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your future value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones because buyers in this segment tend to reward clean presentation and documented care.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a good choice if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and high owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the condition and history differences in the listings you find.
