How much does the 2018 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 4.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,308 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Generally — the 2018 Toyota Sienna earns 4.4/5 from owners and 7.2/10 from our experts. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, reliability, and all-wheel-drive capability, and the overview frames it as a strong fit if you want maximum practicality for hauling kids and cargo. That lines up with its family-first mission, especially if you value space and usefulness over flash. At the same time, some shoppers may wish it offered more features for the price, and the market shows 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and a vehicle you can count on for family duty. The expert review also describes the Sienna as having a deserved reputation for dependability, and it notes that Toyota includes free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age and mileage can magnify wear-related issues, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Sienna?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the van’s family-use features still work as intended. Because this model is often bought for long-term practicality, you’ll want to pay close attention to how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE trim adds a sportier look with a mesh grille, darkened headlights, rocker panel skirts, special taillights, black leather seats with white stitching, and sport-tuned steering and suspension. Base versions are more straightforward, so you should compare whether the extra style and tuning are worth it for you.
• Powertrain: The Sienna uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 296 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic. AWD is available only on LE, XLE, and Limited trims, so if you want all-weather traction, trim choice matters.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on SE and standard on XLE and Limited.
• Infotainment: Even the base L trim gets a Scout connected navigation system and more USB ports. All trims except the L have Safety Connect and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes 18.9 mpg on a test loop, versus an EPA estimate of 22 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2018 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2018 Toyota Sienna is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LE, SE, XLE, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the simplest entry point, but it still gets the upgraded infotainment setup with Scout connected navigation and more USB ports. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna and don’t need extra comfort or convenience features.
• LE: This is the trim to consider if you want the best balance of value and capability, especially because AWD is available here. It gives you access to the Sienna’s core strengths without pushing you into the pricier upper trims.
• SE: This is the style-and-driving trim, with sport-tuned steering and suspension, unique exterior and interior touches, and available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It suits you if you want the most distinctive Sienna and don’t mind paying more for the look and feel.
• XLE: This is the better-equipped family choice, with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert standard. It’s a strong pick if you want more convenience and safety content without going all the way to the top trim.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich version, with the premium tech and convenience content available at the top of the range. It makes sense if you want the most upscale Sienna experience.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on XLE and Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,308 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,455, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $21,470 sits slightly below last year's $22,452.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the van is especially clean and well equipped. On the other hand, the Sienna’s practical reputation and family-friendly appeal help keep demand steady. If you maintain it well and keep service records, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2018 Toyota Sienna does not earn a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS, and it gets an Acceptable result in the driver’s-side small overlap frontal test. In federal testing, it earns a four-star frontal-impact rating from NHTSA, and NHTSA has not rated its side-impact protection.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on SE and standard on XLE and Limited. The main caveat is that its crash-test performance trails some rivals, so you should weigh its strong standard driver-assistance content against that limitation.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 model year adds standard Toyota Safety Sense and updated infotainment improvements, making it a more modern-feeling Sienna than earlier versions.

The bottom line: If you want a used Sienna with standard driver-assistance tech, available AWD, and strong family practicality, the 2018 is a sensible target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully for a lower-mileage example near the low end of the range, but you should still prioritize condition and history over the cheapest sticker.

How does the 2018 Toyota Sienna compare to the 2018 Honda Odyssey?

Our experts score the 2018 Toyota Sienna 7.2/10 and the 2018 Honda Odyssey 8/10.

The Odyssey comes out ahead on expert scoring and safety reputation, while the Sienna stands out if you want available all-wheel drive and a strong practicality-first setup. The Sienna also has a higher average used price, but the Odyssey offers more listings and a slightly better deal share. If AWD matters to you, the Sienna is the more compelling choice; if you want the stronger all-around package, the Odyssey is the better bet.
