How much does the 2018 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,700 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise the comfort, features, value for money, power, and towing capacity, which fits a truck that aims to balance everyday drivability with real pickup usefulness. The 2018 RAM 1500 is especially appealing if you want a roomy cabin, a more comfortable ride, and a truck that feels easy to live with. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for comfort, value, and capability. That said, some reviewers mention occasional acceleration concerns and quirks like the turn knob shifter, so you should still evaluate condition carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad dissatisfaction and more about finding a truck that has been maintained well and driven without unresolved issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 1500?

At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent wear, since those can reveal past incidents or rough use. It also makes sense to focus on how the truck drives and whether the cabin and mechanical condition match the seller’s description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,700 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,131, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $20,131 sits slightly below last year's $21,767.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter even more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $24,214, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,131 average.
• It adds more comfort and refinement for daily driving.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if value matters most, because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and plenty of listings to compare. If you want a newer-feeling truck and are willing to pay more, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
