Why it stands out
The 2017 Toyota Highlander positions itself notably in the competitive crossover SUV market by combining comfort, power, and a family-friendly design. It introduces a more robust V6 engine, offering enhanced performance while maintaining efficiency, particularly with the newly adopted 8-speed transmission. Owners have praised the Highlander for its smooth driving experience and ample interior space, which make it an excellent choice for families. The vehicle is well-equipped with safety features, highlighted by the standard Toyota Safety Sense that includes adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warnings. While owners appreciate the overall value and features, some noted minor drawbacks, like the choice of spare tire and bucket seat options. Nicest car I’ve ever owned! Beautiful color, absolutely loaded with options. Comfortable, great power, handles well in snow. Easy access to third row with captains’ seats in second row. Easy to operate radio/clock/blue tooth. It’s similar to Honda Pilot, but maybe a bit smaller. I traded in a Honda CRX and found Highlander just as easy to drive and park. Excellent value.
