How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 9.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,352 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

With a user rating of 3.8/5, the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban looks like a practical choice if you want a big, traditional full-size SUV with strong space and towing credentials. The overview points to up to nine-passenger seating, available rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and towing capacity of up to 8,300 pounds when properly configured, so it fits well if you need one vehicle for people-moving and hauling. It also brings family-friendly tech and safety features such as automatic emergency braking, a rear-seat reminder system, Teen Driver technology, and available driver-assist systems.

That combination makes it especially relevant if you value utility over compact size or fuel savings. 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is presented as a straightforward, well-equipped large SUV that keeps its core strengths intact while adding useful family-focused technology. The overview emphasizes its space, towing ability, and available safety and convenience features, which suggests a vehicle built around practical long-term use rather than novelty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, thirsty SUV can become expensive to live with if maintenance has been deferred or if you buy one with unresolved wear from heavy family or towing use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize any listing with incomplete records or inconsistent ownership details. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s size-related wear points have been addressed. Because this is a large SUV, pay close attention to how it drives, parks, and feels in everyday use, not just to the feature list.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,352 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,147, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $19,161 sits slightly below last year's $21,157.

That decline suggests the market has moved in your favor as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than someone who bought earlier. If you plan to own the vehicle for a while, the current pricing can help offset some of the Suburban’s higher running costs. If you expect to resell sooner, condition and maintenance history will matter even more when it comes time to set your asking price.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.43% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible primary choice if you want the Suburban’s space, towing ability, and family-friendly features at a softened market price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest badge.
