How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 6.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,205 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and they also highlight comfort features like heated seats and overall dependability. For you, that makes this a sensible pick if you want a roomy compact crossover with an easygoing character and everyday practicality. The market also shows 28.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to dependability and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value a comfortable, low-stress daily driver. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-documented example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on bodywork quality, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal hidden issues. It also makes sense to prioritize overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,205 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,022, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,022 sits slightly below last year's $10,773.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. Because the market is still active and there are plenty of listings to compare, condition and history will matter a lot when it comes time to resell. A well-kept example should be easier to move than one with accident history or incomplete records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,191, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,022 average.
• It shifts to a smaller, more compact footprint for a clearer crossover identity.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for the newer redesign and a more compact feel, the 2018 is the alternative to compare.
