Why it stands out
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid stands out in the competitive compact SUV segment with its impressive hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine and three electric motors, delivering 194 net horsepower. This makes it one of the more powerful options in its class while also maintaining an impressive fuel economy rating of 34 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The exterior design is refreshed with sleek headlights and a more aggressive stance, appealing to buyers looking for a modern aesthetic. Inside, the spacious cabin is filled with convenient tech, such as a 6.1-inch touchscreen navigation system, although it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—features that some buyers might miss. Safety is a strong point too, with standard advanced safety features from Toyota Safety Sense P, ensuring modern peace of mind while driving. Despite a turning radius that is less than ideal, the overall driving dynamics and efficiency make the RAV4 Hybrid a smart choice for those seeking versatility in an SUV.

I was between this car and the 2020 Kia niro. I’ve only been driving the RAV4 hybrid for a few days but I’m so in love. It drives so smoothly and is incredibly quiet. The space inside is more comfortable than the niro with better acceleration and power in general. I’m currently averaging about 36MPG. It’s awesome.
