How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 1.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,341 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.38/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal with some notable tradeoffs. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and many also value the interior quality and safety features. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a comfortable, reliable sedan with good value and everyday usability.

The market also shows 30.5% of listings as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, dependable transportation, and trouble-free ownership, while the expert evaluation also points to favorable reliability ratings and low insurance costs. The powertrain is described as refined and efficient, which supports the case for steady day-to-day use.

Honda also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership experience, with the first scheduled maintenance visit covered. Even so, used buyers should still watch for the kind of small flaws and isolated quality issues that can turn into long-term annoyance if the car was not well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 43.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a prior collision. Focus on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since condition matters more when the market includes a lot of mixed-history inventory.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the entry point, while the EX, EX-L, Sport, and Touring add equipment and upgrades; the Touring is the most fully loaded, and the EX, EX-L, and Touring get the touchscreen infotainment system. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to the feature gaps if they want the newer interface or added convenience equipment.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, with the Sport tuned to 189 hp and the rest at 185 hp. A 3.5-liter V6 is available only on the EX-L with an added option or on the Touring, and it delivers much stronger passing power and highway performance.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is available on every version, but you cannot pair it with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: The upgraded system uses a 7-inch touchscreen and adds HondaLink connected services, Siri Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The LX and Sport miss out on that setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder is described as refined and efficient, and the V6 returned 24.6 mpg on the test loop, with better than 34 mpg on the open road at cruising speeds.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the least expensive way into the Accord, but you should choose it only if you are comfortable giving up the newer touchscreen infotainment system and some of the added convenience and safety tech found higher up the range.
• Sport: This trim adds a slightly stronger 2.4-liter engine tune and larger brakes, making it a good value if you want a more engaging drive without jumping to the V6.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the broader connected-tech experience.
• EX-L: This trim is the right move if you want more luxury and the option to add the V6, giving you a stronger powertrain and a more upscale feel.
• Touring: This is the fully loaded choice, with the V6 standard and the most complete equipment list, so it suits you best if you want the top-spec Accord and are willing to pay for it.

Honda Sensing is available on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,341 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 43.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,137, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,417 sits slightly below last year's $14,638.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

The Accord’s strong reputation and steady demand help support resale, especially when the car has been well maintained and presents cleanly. Higher-trim cars with desirable features may also be easier to move than stripped examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection from the federal government.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is available on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.

The Accord also comes with a standard reversing camera, including a 180-degree view, but it does not include rear cross-traffic alert or a traditional blind-spot warning system. LaneWatch is offered on the EX, EX-L, and Touring, but it only monitors the right side.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 43.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda Sensing is available on every version, and the Touring makes it standard.
• Honda’s updates improved the car’s styling, structure, steering, suspension, and braking.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,217, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,417 average.
• It is a well-engineered midsize sedan with a strong reputation for long-term dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded Accord with updated equipment and strong safety tech availability, the 2016 is the smarter pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you are comfortable giving up some of the 2016 improvements, the 2015 is the value-oriented alternative.
