Is the 2016 Audi A5 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Audi A5 stands out as a stylish luxury coupe with a premium feel and genuinely sporty character, and it pairs that with a refined cabin and the confidence of quattro AWD. It also offers decent room for four occupants and a 16.1-cubic-foot trunk, which is generous for a coupe, so it works best if you want a premium two-door that still has some everyday usability. With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a fair chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2016 Audi A5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Audi A5’s appeal comes from its premium feel, sporty character, and all-wheel-drive confidence, which can make it a reassuring choice if you value a well-rounded luxury coupe. Its drawbacks are more about practicality and performance than outright durability, since the car’s performance is not especially strong by class standards and the coupe format limits everyday versatility. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car whose condition or maintenance history doesn’t match its upscale image.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A5?

At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and prioritize cars with clean records. A pre-purchase inspection is worth it here, especially if you’re comparing multiple examples with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car feels consistent with its premium positioning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi A5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 163 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,165, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi A5's resale value?

The current average of $13,986 sits slightly below last year's $14,270.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved through some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell. The key is to avoid overpaying now, because resale value is strongest when your entry price is disciplined.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2016 if you want the first-generation A5’s premium look, refined cabin, and all-wheel-drive confidence at a softened used-car price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-priced example gives you more value for the money.
