Is the 2014 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, alongside comfort and peace of mind. That said, a few owners mentioned maintenance concerns, so used buyers should still plan for a careful pre-purchase inspection and review service history before committing to long-term ownership.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford Taurus?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, paint consistency, and any signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision work. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since owner feedback mentions some concerns around maintenance and certain interior features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Taurus?

Act selectively, because this market still favors sellers and the best listings can move quickly.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 497 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.00% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $8,558 sits slightly above last year's $8,151.

That upward move suggests the market has held steady enough to support current values, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. The Taurus's combination of comfort, space, and owner satisfaction can help keep buyer interest from dropping too sharply. Even so, resale value will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the car has a clean history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.00% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a strong pick if you want a roomy, comfort-focused sedan and you can verify condition carefully. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2014 remains a sensible target when you find a clean example at the right price.
