How much does the 2014 Ford Taurus cost?

Is the 2014 Ford Taurus a good car?

Generally — the 4.31/5 user rating points to a solid ownership experience for you if you want a roomy, full-size sedan with a comfort-first personality. Owners consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and features, and many also like the smooth ride and the sense of peace of mind it brings for family use. The tradeoff is that some drivers mention touch screen responsiveness and cup holder design as annoyances, so you should expect practicality more than polish. For shoppers who value space and straightforward transportation, that mix fits the Taurus’s role well. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.31/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also points to a dependable, trouble-free feel that many buyers want in a large sedan. That said, a few owners mention maintenance concerns, so you should treat condition and service history as part of the reliability picture rather than assuming every example will age the same way. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has been maintained inconsistently or has hidden wear that only shows up after purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Ford Taurus?

At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, electronics, and signs of uneven wear, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect your ownership experience most. Because this model is valued for comfort and practicality, you should pay close attention to how well the cabin, controls, and major systems have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Taurus?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 522 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.53% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 61.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,938, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $8,647 sits slightly above last year's $8,353.

That upward move suggests the market has held steady enough to support resale value, especially for well-kept examples. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a better chance of protecting your value when it is time to sell. The Taurus’s practical appeal and comfort-focused reputation help keep it relevant with used buyers who want a large sedan without a premium badge. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.31/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.53% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.31/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want a roomy, comfort-oriented full-size sedan and you find a clean example with strong history and a fair price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2014 remains a sensible choice when you can verify condition and buy below the stronger end of the market.
