This car is amazing. I have had it since 2003, and have just under 300k miles. Original engine, transmission. Only maintenance has been 3 timing belts and new batteries, spark plugs. I will probably have to sell this one soon. Sad day

This is a good solid reliable car. Had 160,000 and should go up to 250,000 without any problems. We had 2000 Camry very similar that I sold with 260,000 on still ran great. Toyota hit a home run with the 1999-2001 Camrys still see a lot on the road.

Rock solid reliability was what sold me this car. Over 200,000 miles with no engine and tranny problems. The radiator developed a crack at 199,000 that required replacement but other than that, no other major mechanical issues. The stock struts were shot at 100,000 but that's normal for any car.

The Camry is a great family car. We got this one used, with about 53,000 miles on it. It now has just over 140,000 miles. We have the 4 cylinder model, and this is my main complaint with the car. From a standing start you would be hard pressed to pass an antique VW Minibus, but on the highway it will claw its way from 55 to 80 in nothing flat. That little 4 banger makes really good power once it has some RPM behind it. It has been VERY reliable and has only recently started showing some signs of age. I had to replace a door handle and a window regulator, and we had to have a fuel pressure valve replaced by the guys at Toyota Techs.

Good car, good gas mileage. Remember to to have timing belt changed at about 150,000 miles. A lot of these develop exhaust leaks near manifold.

Perhaps because it was due for a redesign in 2002, not much changed for the 2001 Toyota Camry. The only update was the inclusion of the Gallery Series for the LE, which included features like two-tone paint and seat fabric, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, chrome accents and special badging.

The 2001 Toyota Camry came in three trim levels: the base CE, the midlevel LE and the higher-end XLE. All came standard with a four-cylinder, 2.2-liter, 133 horsepower engine and were available with a V6, 194 horsepower engine. Fuel economy is about 20 to 30 miles per gallon, depending on the engine.

The 2001 Toyota Camry continued the model's streak of being a best selling car. Once again, major complaints centered around the fact that the 2001 Camry, though a good car, is boring to look at and boring to drive. Still, the Camry earned many loyal fans in 2001, who said quality and dependability were their favorite things about the Camry.
