I like how solidly it is built. I rear-ended an SUV in this car, and it still runs awesome. Spectacular gas mileage and it's a blast to drive. Lots of room in the back for stuff! Get one for yourself!

Trim was weak, but good gas mileage, and practical vehicle.

Overall it's not a bad car. We've had the car for 12 years and now it has 106,000 miles. The only thing we ever needed to replace on it was the alternator. Handling is excellent and sporty, but acceleration is terrible especially with the automatic transmission. I wish it had a 5-speed. It gets great gas mileage, sometimes achieving 38mpg on the highway. The interior is nice but the it's pretty loud on the highway. I would recommend this to a friend looking for cheap, reliable transportation.

This car was given to my wife and I. You see it here after the engine had a knock in it. We found out later that the engine had broken a roller lifterr retaining clip, allowing the roller lifter to turn in its bore, thus damaging itself and the cam. We replaced the cam, rockers, lifters, and some other maintainance parts while it was apart. The bottom line is this, the Ford Escort is a good, reliable car that is rather cheap tp own. Our car can get upwards of 30MPG which is not bad for this car. It is not a powerful car in any way. The engine is 88HP. Bottom line it is a great point A to B car and nothing more.

Great low end power, poor high end power. 7.5 out of 10 handling. 9 out of 10 winter driving. Most 94 Escorts, however, are hard to find in good condition since many people consider it a junk car, they don't maintain it properly. However, it can easily be turned into a quality car with only a few additions.
