Starting issues

Asked by GuruHH27G Jul 22, 2019 at 08:44 PM about the 2004 Saturn VUE V6 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Saturn Vue 3.5lt has starting
issues.  Getting fuel, but no spark.
We have put in a bypass for the BcM
anti theft issue and still not starting.
Tried the relearn, nothing.   We can
smell the fuel, but it isn’t getting a
spark to turn over to start.   In the
past, it has taken about 15 min of
trying and finally would start and run
fine.  It doesn’t ever stall once
running and runs smooth.  New oil,
new oil filter, new spark plugs.   Need
new ECM?  Running out of ideas.
The anti theft light would come on
while driving, and stay on.

I found my answer to this issue! I ordered the NEWROCKIES part to bypass the anti theft system, did the relearn, and it started! It has been running just fine since. GM has known about this anti theft interfering with the system all throughout makes and models and have chose not to admit it and do a recall. Makes me wonder how much money people have spent and how many cars have been junked due to this issue! Very maddening. I am happy my car is back on the road! Thank you to NEWROCKIES!!
