I recommend finding an independent VW repair shop. The dealer will kill your budget, as with any European vehicle parts and labor will be more expensive than American or Asian makes.

I agree with both the above. While in warranty go to the Dealer. If something goes wrong you don't want to give them any excuses to deny a warranty claim! When the vehicle is no longer in warranty find a reputable shop that specializes in European vehicles. Don't take it to the corner gas station or garage and don't take it to a chain type of repair shop. They'll have no idea what they're looking at! My Nephew learned that lesson the hard way with his 98 BMW. Hope that helps! Jim
