You can take the top down manually. You need to drop the back seat down by using your ignition key to unlatch it. Find the lever on the left side of the backing to the seat and pull it forward. This releases the motors. Then unlatch your top and pull up the back of the top toward the front of the top as far as you can. Pull the front of the top toward the back and make sure you pull up the tunneau cover so that you can drop the whole top into the pocket that the top drops into. To pull it back out take a firm stance in the back seat area and pull, it is not easy but it can be done and then move all the other parts as needed to reset the top. Note, you are not likely to get the top to sit flatly on the tunneau once completed. This requires the motor functions to actually work . . . which is likely an expensive repair.

Note that my convertible is a '97 900 Saab. Your situation may vary depending on the year, I don't know. But I imagine the way it works will be similar, or the same, for cars of that era.
