Sounds like tune up time. How old are the plugs and wires and other ignition components? Change the filters recently? Change the fluids recently? Check engine light on? Tires inflated properly?

How is it running? I get 18 MPG on my taurus around town. Do you only do short trips with it? I like to get my cars on the highway once a week to "open it up", let the fluids run to operating temps as the car runs better.
