Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am 2nd owner of an 1988 RX7 convertible. It just stopped working several years back. At the time, it sounded like it tried to start but wouldn't. One shop over phone said it was the apex seal without looking at it. First shop I towed it to couldn't get it started or didn't want to work on it. Second shop said engine was frozen and not worth fixing. Can't find a shop to work on it. Body is clean. Interior used but not bad. Top needs to be replace now along with tires and hoses etc from sitting. (Don't have a good pic) Is this car worth fixing?

I would fix it. Find another engine instead of rebuilding the one you have now.

Find a shop that specializes in imports for an estimated to get it up and running again. Preferably have an older tech look at it. How long has the vehicle been sitting? Has it been stored in a garage? Hope that helps! Jim

Thank you for all your responses. I really did enjoy driving this car. Drove it every day to work. Went on vacation for a week and just wouldn't start when i came back..It has been sitting for several years (maybe 10?). I've called all local shops. No one wants to touch it. (sigh) So disappointed. Trying to figure what to do with it. I'll have to check to see if I can locate an engine. Might go that route.
