Transmission grinding but not slipping

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is there a form of a patch so to speak for a
transmission that's grinding... No slipping at all and
no hesitations but a grinding. Are there more
options other than swapping it out or doing a full
rebuild?
The car had the tranny fluid drained. After the refill
the car was started and it was making crazy noises
until it was switched to neutral. After that it didn't
make the noises until driven past 30 mph. Over a
period of 1 week it's gotten really loud.

I've drained and filled transmissions twice prior on
different cars with no issues. What happened here?
I really appreciate the feedback.

The book for the car says 4.5 qts... How much more could I fill it without damaging.. 5? 5 and a half qts? The wheel bearings were done about 6 months ago, I don't hear them going bad. But half shafts what would I be looking for?
