Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought a 2002 ford e150 Econoline
elegance.. Guy said he put it in reverse and it
made some kind of grinding noise then he
put it in drive took off rode good then it
started that same grinding noise so he had it

looked regular then he told me it could be
the fly wheel or rear end don't know I bought
it for cheap I wondering if its worth fixing

I'd recommend looking up worst case scenario prices to fix it. Cost of fixing it + price you're purchasing the van for = no more than the book value with the grinding issue fixed.
