1965 Falcon station wagon

Asked by papajoe Jun 08, 2022 at 01:32 PM about the 1965 Ford Falcon 4 Door Station Wagon RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when replacing my fuel tank, I had to install it upside down so that the filler hole
was on the right side, BUT that meant that the fuel sending unit was upside
down, thus I don't get a fuel reading.  Can I drill a new hole for a new fuel
sending unit?

Put the tank on the roof of the car and use a gravity feed .

No as it is a special fitting. You need to get the right fuel tank.

I like beatupchecy's answer. That's how i used to fuel my Model-T, but from the cowl.

drilling out a fuel tank might be OK, but you have to measure it exactly and it might leak.
