Belt squeals upon start up and while driving

If it is loose, then you will need to replace your belt tensioner. Replace your belt as well. It could also be one of your other pulleys or a bearing from your alternator.

is the belt dry, or full of oil or coolant? in any event like tom says you will need to replace this squeakin' belt and the others too- They aren't that expensive.

Please, Please, Please...the very first thing to do with these d-21's is ALWAYS only install the factory replacement belts ONLY...anything else tends to squeal! Found this out the noisy way!

the tensioner and tensioner bearing may need to be changed as well...
